Nippon Paint aims to empower today’s discerning parents towards creating uplifting environments for children, through various awareness and educational initiatives related to children’s health and wellness. This is done by focusing on three key growth stages of a childInfants: According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, babies under six weeks of age take in 30-60 breaths per minute (compared to 14-16 breaths per minute for adults). That is up to 86,400 breaths per day – three times the respiration rate of adults. Clean air is a priority as their respiratory tracks are more vulnerable, immune systems are weaker and brains are still developing.Toddlers: As children develop stronger muscles to start crawling and subsequently rise to their feet, their sense of curiosity and exploration grows. As they crawl on the floor and learn to walk using the walls as support, they become more vulnerable to indoor surface pollutants. As such, it becomes a priority to ensure that they are protected from the dangers of bacteria, molds and viruses.Pre-Schoolers: As children grow stronger and are able to walk, skip and jump, playtime becomes increasingly important for their emotional, mental and physical development. As kids are spending more time indoors today, creating an environment that nurtures a child’s creativity through playful indoors becomes more significant.

Q & A
Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints are considered more sustainable and environmentally friendly compared to traditional paints that contain higher levels of VOCs. The sustainability of low VOC paints stems from several factors:
Reduced Environmental Impact: VOCs in traditional paints contribute to air pollution and the formation of smog, as well as release harmful toxins into the atmosphere. Low VOC paints have significantly lower levels of these compounds, minimizing their impact on air quality and reducing associated health risks.
Indoor Air Quality: One of the main advantages of low VOC paints is their positive impact on indoor air quality. Traditional paints release a significant amount of VOCs into the air, leading to the "new paint smell" that can be irritating and potentially harmful. Low VOC paints emit fewer toxins, resulting in improved indoor air quality and a healthier living or working environment.
Health Benefits: The reduced VOC content in low VOC paints is beneficial for human health. VOCs have been linked to various respiratory issues, allergies, and other health concerns. By using low VOC paints, occupants are less exposed to these harmful compounds, making it a safer choice, especially for sensitive individuals such as children, the elderly, or those with respiratory conditions.
Regulatory Compliance: Many countries and regions have established regulations to limit the VOC content in paints and coatings. By using low VOC paints, individuals and businesses can ensure compliance with these regulations and contribute to overall environmental protection efforts.
Renewable Resources and Green Certification: Some low VOC paints are formulated using renewable resources and natural ingredients. Additionally, several eco-labels and certifications, such as Green Seal or GreenGuard, evaluate and endorse low VOC paints for their sustainability attributes. These certifications provide consumers with confidence that the products meet certain environmental standards.
Despite their advantages, it's important to note that the term "low VOC" is not strictly regulated, and the actual VOC content can vary between different brands and products. Therefore, it is advisable to check the product labels or consult the manufacturer to obtain accurate information on the VOC levels in specific paints.
Overall, low VOC paints offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional paints by reducing environmental impact, improving indoor air quality, promoting human health, complying with regulations, and often incorporating renewable resources and certifications.
