DESCRIPTION

MEMORY GAME is a perfect time out for kids from studying. An AGE NO BAR game, perfect for parents, grandparents to spend quality time with their friends and family.

Each game consists of 20 pairs of hand-painted motifs inspired by Folk arts of India viz Warli, Madhubani, Rajput, Kalamkari and Gond, printed digitally on the muslin fabric. The other side of the card is made out of  UPCYCLED HANDWOVEN fabric.

HOW TO PLAY

Get hold of your friends, cousins, parents or grandparents.
Spread a piece of newspaper or bedsheet.
Place all the cards on this spread, with the pictures facing
down. Nobody knows which card has which picture!
The first player turns any two cards to reveal the pictures.
Everyone tries to memorize which card has which picture. Then
the cards are turned again, the pictures facing down. The next
person chooses any two cards, and so on and so forth.
If the two cards that you picked have the same picture, for
example, if you reveal two parrots, yayy! You pick up the cards,
and get to play one more turn.
The game continues until all the cards have been picked up.
The aim is to find as many pairs as possible. At the end of the
game, the person who has the maximum number of pairs,
wins!

So, pay attention every time a card is turned, and try to reveal
matching pictures during your chance. Go get them!

Q & A

Ask a question
There are no questions yet

1. Use of Upcycled Materials

Justification:
  • Reduces Waste: Upcycling involves repurposing waste materials or old products into new items, which helps in diverting waste from landfills. This process conserves resources by extending the life cycle of materials.
  • Energy Efficiency: Upcycling typically requires less energy compared to manufacturing new products from raw materials, leading to a lower carbon footprint.
Scientific Explanation: Upcycling reduces the need for raw material extraction and processing, which are energy-intensive processes. According to a study published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, upcycling can significantly lower the carbon footprint by decreasing the demand for new materials and the associated emissions (Geyer et al., 2016).

2. Handwoven Production Process

Justification:
  • Low Energy Consumption: Handweaving does not involve heavy machinery, thus consuming less energy compared to industrial textile manufacturing processes.
  • Local Craftsmanship: Handwoven products are often made by local artisans, reducing transportation emissions associated with shipping raw materials and finished goods over long distances.
Scientific Explanation: The energy footprint of handcrafting is generally lower than that of mechanized processes. The International Journal of Sustainable Manufacturing notes that traditional crafts like handweaving often have a reduced environmental impact due to lower energy requirements and fewer emissions from transportation (Dufresne & Saba, 2015).

3. Indian Folk Art and Cultural Preservation

Justification:
  • Cultural Significance: Incorporating traditional Indian folk art supports cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship, which can foster sustainable local economies.
  • Reduced Synthetic Inputs: Traditional art forms often use natural dyes and materials, minimizing the use of synthetic chemicals that can have harmful environmental effects.
Scientific Explanation: Natural dyes and materials used in traditional crafts have lower environmental impacts compared to synthetic alternatives. Research published in the Journal of Environmental Management highlights that natural dyes often have fewer associated environmental and health risks (Muthu, 2014).

4. Design and Longevity

Justification:
  • Durable Product: A well-crafted memory game made from upcycled materials is likely to be durable, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
  • Educational Value: Products that promote learning and cultural appreciation can encourage more sustainable consumer behaviors.
Scientific Explanation: Durability and longevity of products reduce the frequency of replacements and waste generation. A study in Sustainability suggests that products designed for durability and education contribute positively to sustainable consumption patterns (Kumar et al., 2017).
