Om Merchant is the Founder and Principal at AA. He has over a 20 year expereince in Design and Execution of projects. He has a Masters degree in Environment Architecture. He specialises in Low-Cost, Sustainable, Critically Relevant and Innovative Design solutions. He has been actively involved in Academics since the past 15 years. His pioneering efforts in updating pedagogy in Design has resulted in a paradigm shift within the fraternity. He is an Associate Architect with Ratan J. Batliboi Consultants Private Ltd. and worked on Masterplanning & Design of Exposition / Exhibition Centres, Campus masterplan for Education Institutions, etc.

He is an expert on 3D Monolithic Precast Construction Technology also known as PPVC (Precast Prefabricated Volumetric Construction). He has created concepts of utilising this technology for creation of Manufactured Buildings for Anganwadis, Public Toilets, Highway Amenities, Factory Buildings, Hospitals and Schools.
