Melia azedarach is found throughout India. It is found growing naturally in the sub Himalayan tracts upto 1800 m. It is a deciduous tree up reaching up to 45 m height. It has a spreading crown and sparsely branched limbs. The bark is smooth, greenish-brown when young and turn grey and fissured with age.
